There are a few things going on this WIP Wednesday that are exciting, but sadly they’re mostly just exciting to me.
The socks you’ve all been subjected to looking at endless photos of are getting there, but there’s still most of the second foot to go so I’m not counting these as “almost done” quite yet.
For someone who just a few weeks ago was blogging about how much she hated knitting socks, I have to say these little guys have grown on me and I’m tempted to try something more ambitious. A big part of this is the yarn; whereas my first socks were knitted with “I need to knit some socks, what can I get easily and for cheap?” basic wool/nylon yarn, these are made from a much more pleasing blend of fibres including such novelties as silk and bamboo (but still with some nylon, of course). They’re SO SOFT!
Also still on the go is my grey Medley of Ridges crocheted sweater. I am enjoying this but just haven’t found much time to work on it this week and the socks make for much prettier Instagram photos so they get most of the attention. The sweater will be done in a couple of weeks, hopefully.
Last up is a new pattern design, which will be sold through Ravelry but given away free to mailing list subscribers (make sure you’re set to receive offers & announcements!). That will be with you in a week or so, and I’m not telling you what it is yet! Suffice to say I finally found a use for that Madelinetosh yarn brought home from our road trip.
That’s about it for this week. I promise to try and cast on something more interesting and less already-photographed for next time 😉
