WIP Wednesday: Wish me luck!

Last week I managed to cast on a new project for myself, intending to knit it during the 10 hour round-trip in the car as we went to London for a few days. I of course forgot to take it, and spent the car ride eating mints and trying not to get too travelsick instead. Oh well. Instead of impressive progress on this, you get to see a couple of nights worth of knitting that doesn’t look like anything quite yet. Behold!

It's going to fit, it's going to fit, it's going to fit...

It’s going to fit, it’s going to fit, it’s going to fit…

This is the by Sarah Wilson, it’s the second of her patterns I’ve knit and while I’m not a massive fan of the way they’re written I do love the outcome, so that’s what matters. My version is knit in Cascade 220 Fingering, . The pattern calls for sport weight so my gauge is way out but I’ve worked out 福汇官网 that if I knit to the 2X size with some minor modifications along the way it should work out somewhere around the finished dimensions of the size L that I’m aiming for. On top of that, Sarah’s patterns tend to work out too short for me and lots of other knitters, so I’ll be adding extra length as I go.Wish me luck with that.

On the bright side, our trip to London was brilliant. We were there to watch our first ever live NFL game, in which the Miami Dolphins (Boyfriend’s team) well and truly trampled the Oakland Raiders. WEMBLEY SELFIE!

I demand to go to another one!

In other news this week my pattern is now out, it’s available as an eBook with the previously released cowl and if you bought the cowl pattern already you’ll automatically get a discount on the eBook.

I love that pattern! I’ve had it on my queue for ages. And I think the colors you chose are freakin’ amazing. I want to copy it. Exactly. (Be warned, I’m really bad about copying people with great ideas, so this will likely happened. It’s a compliment, I swear.) I can’t wait to see your progress. 🙂

Hah, thanks. Maybe go for actual sport weight yarn on yours though because this yarn has really made things complicated! 😀

I was really torn on the colours at first, especially ordering online without being able to see what the purple was really like, but I’m in love now.

  2. Oh I can’t wait to watch your progress on the cardigan, it’s going to be so lovely. I adore those red gloves, brilliant color! 🙂 Happy Knitting. 🙂

Thank you! Though, judging by the wrist pain it’s inexplicably giving me, this cardigan might take a while 🙁
