Today I decided to lay out my current yarn stash and see what’s what. I had some new purchases to add, due to needing one extra skein of something (£2.29) and then deciding I “might as well” make the order up to £25 to qualify for free delivery. Logic in action, there.
Anyway I’d been wanting to venture into the realm of sock knitting for a while so this was the perfect excuse to get my hands on something pretty. This is Stylecraft Aviemore, which has no comments on Ravelry but does seem to make nice stripy socks judging by the project photos. Originally the plan was to buy the blue and make Boyfriend a pair, it was HIS IDEA AND HIS IDEA ONLY to also make a “matching” pink pair for myself.
The free delivery was not yet mine after adding these two in, so I pored over my project queue for something relatively cheap to make. Hitting on a nice tank top that would be perfect for holidays, I chucked in a load of Drops Safran too.
Some new stitch markers to make up the difference, and free delivery was mine! *insert evil cackle here*
Now, I’m technically aware that my “mats already bought” project queue is getting a bit crazy in relation to my actual knitting speed, but I wasn’t quite prepared to see everything set out in one place. Normally this is all kept in sacks on the living room floor in my knitting corner, though admittedly that does need to change. I’ve only been knitting for three months. This is already getting out of hand . . .
The top row is mostly acrylic, most of the rest is either cotton or cotton/acrylic blends with the exception of the new sock yarn and the grey wool to the right of the middle row. At least most of it was bought with a particular project in mind which makes it totally ok, right?
