Another yarn order arrived today, and there was much rejoicing. I’ve officially run out of allocated space for all this stuff and will need to reorganise a bit when time allows, but in the meantime my dream of having a stash big enough to dive into Scrooge McDuck-style is one step closer to reality.
This grey wool (DROPS Karisma dark grey mix) is new and just arrived today. It’s earmarked for an awesome scarf for boyfriend. He knows he’s getting a scarf, but doesn’t know anything else so I’ll refrain from linking the pattern. Suffice to say it’ll be awesome, and will let me have a go at cables for the first time too.
This stuff all turned up today too. Two different brands that will hopefully knit to the same gauge, since we were colour matching on a budget. No points for guessing what I’m making out of these.Watch Full Movie Online Streaming Online and Download
And now for the money shot:
The chunky stuff at the top right was my first ever yarn purchase, for my misguided attempt at a $5 in Paris jumper. It has a special place in my heart. Around the top and left are various cottons and the purple cotton/acrylic blend going into my wedding bolero. Must think of something to use up more of that yellow. Hmm. Maybe some sort of gloves to go with my cowl . . .
Yarnporn over, time for me to get back to work!
Soooo excited for my scarf!
Coming up in only 7 and a half years or so! Assuming my wrist doesn’t give in before then. Ow.
I never thought I’d ever be in the position where I thought my house lacked a dedicated wool room. Erm, yarn. Fancy string!
Never fear, I have ideas for better storage. You’ll hear about them soon enough 😉
Hi, I came here from Rav. Your yarn stash looks a little like mine. I don’t have a lot unless I’m working on a project. Otherwise it all fits in one bin that sits on the floor next to my desk. I’m curious about your Sirdar yarn; is that acrylic or a natural fiber? I really like the look of it.
It’s acrylic, but it’s surprisingly soft to the touch (for acrylic, anyway). Good value, let’s just hope the quality is good enough! http://www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/sirdar-supersoft-aran
As for the stash size, I’ve only been knitting for two months so this is likely to expand a lot in future. Doubt I have the restraint to keep it so manageable for long.
Thanks for the comment 🙂
Thank you for the reply. It looks like nice yarn from the picture, I hope it works well for you. 🙂
I can almost imagine how lovely it would be to jump int a pool of wool- like a cloud. It’s amazing how quickly stash acquisition happens. It’s like you learn to knit, and the next thing you know, your’re insulating your home with yarn.
Between the walls! Why didn’t I think of that?!
