Getting mail is like getting presents

Yay! New stuff! It’s always fun to get a package in the mail, but even more fun when it’s full of knitting things. This order arrived incomplete without one of the needles I’d paid for, but that will get sorted out and in the meantime I have everything I need to get started on the wedding bolero experiment.

A jolly night of swatching and experimentation went by, and I’ve decided to use 3mm needles for the ribbing and 3.5mm for the stockinette. Toyed with the idea of using seed stitch or 1×1 ribbing for the edging of the bolero to change things up a bit, but after putting together a demo and asking boyfriend for his opinion it turns out he prefers regular old 2×2 ribbing anyway.

This 50/50 cotton/acrylic yarn is SO MUCH EASIER to use than the 100% cotton I’ve been working with lately. It still feels nice and cottony, but it’s not as easily split and doesn’t give me massive tension issues (or hand cramp, hurrah!). Plus purple is my favourite colour, so I’m pretty much in heaven right now.

Unfortunately knitting time tonight will be limited since we’re off to a gig like the hip young things we are (*cough*). Tomorrow though, oh tomorrow will be fun.

I LOVE that color! It looks like it has a sheen to it?

It does yes, very slight. Figured it would go with the shiny shiny shoes!

Only problem now is getting this thing finished on time, which is easier said than done. Erk.
